Laura's story : production material, 1979.

Laura tells her mother a bedtime story about the perilous rescue of a tiny woman. The collection includes a holograph, corrected typescripts (one in photocopy, one in carbon), corrected galley proofs, corrected page proofs (one in photocopy), a jacket proof, correspondence, notes and layout notes, reviews, a dummy proof, promotional bookmarks.

Beatrice Schenk de Regniers was born in Lafayette, Indiana on August 16, 1914, and died March 1, 2000. She studied social work administration at the U of Chicago and earned her M.Ed in 1941 from Winnetka Graduate Teacher's College. After doing social work for several years she was sent to the Sinai Peninsula to a Yugoslav refugee camp, constructing a kindergarten and teaching American folk dances to the children. Jack Kent wrote and illustrated about 40 children's books during his career and illustrated nearly 20 by other authors. He began his career as a free-lance commercial artist, created a comic strip "King Aroo" which was syndicated from 1950 to 1965.
